These spice blends were created and fueled by my father’s expertise and understanding of the nuances of spices, playing with different combinations. His goal was to make his own cooking easier, without having to mix 20-30 different spices each time he made a different recipe. Over the years, he has been giving these blends to family and friends which lead to the inception of Papa Verde Spice Company.  Our hope is that you love them just as much as we do with your meals being delicious and easy to prepare.

 

Today as a busy mother, the last thing I have time to do is spend hours in the kitchen. This is the essence of Papa Verde Spice Company. Due to the unique blend of many different kinds of spices and flavors these blends do the work for you. You can take your average weeknight meal and elevate it to something that tastes like it took hours to prepare, but it’s just the spice blend you added. Truly this is all I use in my own kitchen to create delicious, easy meals for my family along with salt, pepper and some garlic powder. Gone are the days of a loaded spice drawer or a jam packed lazy susan with thirty plus spices that you don’t use or know what to do with. These blends simplify your everyday cooking to be manageable, easy and absolutely delicious. Our hope is that you will enjoy our spice blends just as much as our family and friends have over the years.

My father has always had a love for cooking and a fascination with spices. From the bustling kitchens of his youth, he was inspired and taught by his mother. With her vast cookbook collection she was always combining recipes, tweaking them in order to make her own version of new sauces and blends. From a young age, I watched and listened to them in the kitchen. Not until I was older and cooking for my own family did I appreciate what a gift this was. I quickly realized that it is really challenging to make dishes with a depth of flavor with just a few spices, not to mention doing this quickly and cost effectively. On top of this, the meals that I was used to eating, made by my father were so full of flavor and had a depth that I just couldn’t create on my own.
